Books I’m checking out for Read an Ebook Week – Wednesday’s List

Find new ebooks to love at great discounts (or even FREE!) during Smashwords' 2014 Read An Ebook Week! Can we still call it Hump Day (NO camels, please!) when we’re at the midway point of Smashwords’ 2014 Read an Ebook Week promotion? It doesn’t feel right to mark the midway point of something so good.

I realized that I should have included links for the author’s websites and blogs when they’ve posted that information on Smashwords so this morning I went through and added that information to both Monday’s and Tuesday’s pages.

Books I’m checking out for Read an Ebook Week – Tuesday’s List

Find new ebooks to love at great discounts (or even FREE!) during Smashwords' 2014 Read An Ebook Week!Have you guys been finding any new ebooks to read during Smashwords’ 2014 Read an Ebook Week promotion? I love some of the ebooks I found yesterday. I’ve already found some today that I bet will become favorites of mine.

I know the images in these posts are wrapping around each other. For some reason WordPress is stripping out my code to start each image on a new line. Grrr.

Updated 5 March 2014: Added link to the author’s websites or blogs, or if the don’t have one of those I added a link to their Smashwords author page. more “Books I’m checking out for Read an Ebook Week – Tuesday’s List”

Books I’m checking out for Read an Ebook Week – Monday’s List

Find new ebooks to love at great discounts (or even FREE!) during Smashwords' 2014 Read An Ebook Week!I thought that I’d publish a list of the ebooks I’m checking out during the 2014 Smashwords Read an Ebook Week promotion this week. Rather than make one list that could get rather Jabba-sized as the week goes by I’ll do a new list each day as I find new ebooks I think you guys (and gals) may want to read. With every book I’ll post the cover, title, author, genre and the short description. Unless otherwise indicated all of these ebooks are free during Read an Ebook Week. I hope something (or several somethings) catches your eye.

Updated 5 March 2014: Added link to Lashell Collins’ Pierced (A Boxed Set)  since I discovered I hadn’t put in a link on Monday. I also added links to the author’s websites or blogs, or if the don’t have one of those I added a link to their Smashwords author page. more “Books I’m checking out for Read an Ebook Week – Monday’s List”

A clarification on getting the discounts on my ebooks during Read an E-book Week

Find new ebooks to love at great discounts (or even FREE!) during Smashwords' 2014 Read An Ebook Week!On Friday I wrote that Smashwords, my ebook distributor, is running their annual 2014 Smashwords Read an Ebook Week promotion this week and I’m making my two non-free ebooks available at a 50% discount during the promotion. What I didn’t say is that to get the discount you will need to enter the code REW50 at checkout. It’s that easy.

Just be aware that with so many people looking at the great free and discounted ebooks this week the site may be slower than usual but please be patient. You’ll be very glad you were.

“No Budget, No Pay” is being republished

"No Budget, No Pay"Last October I wrote a book called A Common Sense Proposal for the Lack of US Federal Budgets, a mouthful of a title that I shortened in December to No Budget, No Pay. Unfortunately the name change ended up causing confusion for many of the stores that carry my ebook so today I republished No Budget, No Pay as a brand new ebook with an ISBN of 9781310742804. The price is still $2.99 and you can preview 25% of the ebook before you have to buy it. more ““No Budget, No Pay” is being republished”

“He’s With the Band” is no longer available in paperback

Find He's With the Band on SmashwordsDue to a recent price increase in the paperback edition of He’s With the Band, along with the fact that I am unable to make any updates in that edition of the book, I have removed it from sale from Amazon and their CreateSpace division. The minimum price Amazon allowed me to charge for the paperback was high enough at $4.59, simply because the book is so short, but when I noticed that the price had risen almost a dollar with no explanation as to why the minimum price was increased I felt I had no choice but to remove it from print completely.

I’m sorry about any inconvenience this causes.

Smashwords gets a major redesign

Smashwords Blog: Smashwords Unveils Major Website RedesignSmashwords, the company that puts my ebooks into so many major retailers, threw the switch on a major redesign of their website. The new site is bright and shiny, and it’s even easier to see the information on the books you’re looking at. The screenshot on the right, from Smashword’s announcement of the redesign on their blog, shows a bit of how much cleaner the site looks, and when you go to an ebook’s page you can see just how much cleaner it looks, as you can see in this screenshot of the page for my ebook He’s With the Bandmore “Smashwords gets a major redesign”
