In December I posted part of a new scene I had written for an edited and expanded version of He’s With the Band, and when I did I said there was more to the scene, but it hadn’t been typed up yet. I’m happy to say that I have finally finished typing up what I’d written over a year ago. more “More Good News: I’m writing again”
I use Smashwords to distribute my ebooks, but there’s always been one store that’s been missing: Google’s Play Store. After several requests to Smashwords about the problem with no response, I went ahead and put my ebooks on the Play Store myself. more “My books are now in the Google Play Store”
Last week I was thinking it should be getting time for the 2015 Smashwords Read an Ebook Week and sure enough, when I checked my email this morning I see that it started yesterday. Read an Ebook Week is a promotion my distributor, Smashwords, runs every year to encourage people to read ebooks. Many Smashwords authors put deep discounts on their ebooks with some making their ebooks completely free. As I did last year you can get my two non-free ebooks at a 50% discount. more “It’s Read an Ebook Week!”
Before the year closes out I wanted to share something that I’d been working on since I haven’t published anything new this year. As I said earlier today (and in the past), I wrote a new scene for He’s With the Band earlier this year but I haven’t been able to get it all typed up. As a thank you to everyone who’s been waiting patiently for it I wanted to share what I have of the new scene available. It’s a very early draft so not only do I have more to add to it I may also make some pretty big changes to it when I finally get the new version published.
As I said yesterday, I just read Amanda Palmer’s The Art of Asking and I’m blown away by how open she is about everything. As 2014 comes to a close I know it seems this writer hasn’t written much and in the spirit of Amanda’s begin open with her fans I wanted to try to explain why you haven’t seen much writerly output from me, and how I hope to change that in 2015.

I wasn’t online much on Monday thanks to an afternoon doctor’s appointment but when I looked at my download numbers for He’s With the Band on Amazon I was floored. when I saw Monday’s final numbers I tanj near fell out of my chair. more “Finagle’s eyes! Everyone with Omega Glory is amazed at how many people have gotten He’s With the Band. When J.M. told us there had been over 1500 downloads after the book was published we couldn’t believe our ears, and when he told us the other day that we had crossed the 1600 mark for downloads it blew me away.

A couple of days ago I got an email from my hero, Amanda Freaking Palmer, and she gave us an update on the book she’s written. In the post is a link to a story about making the cover and she said something that may be my newest favorite quote:

Books are crack. I can dig it, which may explain why I hate having to admit that I haven’t done anything new lately on the rewrite of He’s With the Band. (The quote came from here but I have to warn you that the images in the post are not all safe for work [they get NSFW in other words].)
I have a new scene that I started working on longhand and I just discovered that it never did get typed up. I”ll see about bringing the notebook in tomorrow and typing it up so I can see about getting you all a preview of what’s coming. That is it’s coming if I can ever get it finished. *g*
