Yesterday when I checked my download numbers I saw I was really close to hitting a new milestone in downloads and had a feeling by the time I logged off at the end of the day I would probably have hit it. And I did. more “We have a new download milestone!”

We have a new milestone!
I love looking at the stats for my ebooks every day. Even when there’s not much news I make a point to check the download numbers for He’s With the Band and the number of times the previews for Somewhere… and More and No Budget, No Pay got downloaded. It turns out that even eight months after I published WHTB I still see 200-250 downloads every month between Smashwords and their partner sites and Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing program. more “We have a new milestone!”
My ebooks are now available on Scribd
Back in December Smashwords announced that they had signed a distribution agreement with Scribd and today I see that my three ebooks are now available on that site. I’ve updated the pages for each book to include the new link (and a new link for No Budget, No Pay on Barnes & Noble) but I wanted to give you the links to each of my ebooks on Scribd on one page for those that want to check it out there.
And don’t forget, both Somewhere… and More and No Budget, No Pay are available for just $1.50 at Smashwords this week for Read an Ebook Week. That’s half off the regular price and Scribd doesn’t have that price so get your copy soon. The price will go back up to the regular price when the sale ends so don’t miss out.
A clarification on getting the discounts on my ebooks during Read an E-book Week
On Friday I wrote that Smashwords, my ebook distributor, is running their annual 2014 Smashwords Read an Ebook Week promotion this week and I’m making my two non-free ebooks available at a 50% discount during the promotion. What I didn’t say is that to get the discount you will need to enter the code REW50 at checkout. It’s that easy.
Just be aware that with so many people looking at the great free and discounted ebooks this week the site may be slower than usual but please be patient. You’ll be very glad you were.
Next week is Read an Ebook Week
Smashwords, my ebook distributor, runs a promotion every year to encourage people to read ebooks, with many of their ebooks discounted if not completely free. They’s announced that the 2014 Smashwords Read an Ebook Week will be next week, 2-8 March. It will not only be the perfect chance to find ebooks you never knew you’d love but you will also be able to get my ebooks at a 50% discount. more “Next week is Read an Ebook Week”
A small change to the page for “Somewhere… and More”
I realized the other day that the page I created for my ebook Somewhere… and More doesn’t have the links to the week or previews I posted before the book was published. That’s now corrected so if you’re thinking of getting it you can easily find six excerpts from the book to help you decide that you want to get it. more “A small change to the page for “Somewhere… and More””
Hello to India! My ebooks are now available on Flipkart!
Today as I was checking the sales and downloads of my ebooks I remembered that I needed to see if my ebooks are available on Flipkart yet. Back in August Smashwords announced an agreement for them to distribute their authors’ ebooks on Flipkart, India’s largest online bookstore. Since Smashwords is my distributor my ebooks would be making their way to Flipkart as well. more “Hello to India! My ebooks are now available on Flipkart!”
Smashwords gets a major redesign
Smashwords, the company that puts my ebooks into so many major retailers, threw the switch on a major redesign of their website. The new site is bright and shiny, and it’s even easier to see the information on the books you’re looking at. The screenshot on the right, from Smashword’s announcement of the redesign on their blog, shows a bit of how much cleaner the site looks, and when you go to an ebook’s page you can see just how much cleaner it looks, as you can see in this screenshot of the page for my ebook He’s With the Band. more “Smashwords gets a major redesign”
[Updated] Give the gift of an ebook from Smashwords
(Updated 30 December to include screenshots from the newly redesigned Smashwords website. I apologize for not having these screenshots posted sooner.)
So many people have ebook readers and love them, and for those that do some of the best gifts you can give them are more ebooks. Except not only do you have to decide which ebooks to give them, but you also have to make sure you give it to them in the right format for their device. If you’re an iPad user and the person you’re shopping for is a Kindle or Nook user any ebooks from iBooks could be useless to them, and vice versa. But Smashwords has just the thing for you.
(Full disclosure: Smashwords distributes my ebooks to iBooks, Barns & Noble, Kobo, Diesel, and many other ebook stores. They can also distribute to Amazon’s Kindle store but I upload my ebooks directly to Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing program.) more “[Updated] Give the gift of an ebook from Smashwords”
Kobo makes it a sweep with all of the major ebookstores carrying all of my ebooks
As many of you know, I distribute my ebooks via Smashwords, a company that was created for the sole purpose of helping independent ebook authors get their ebooks into ebookstores so that readers can find their ebooks. As you can see from the screenshot below if you have your ebooks in the Smashwords Premium Catalog they can put your ebooks in most, if not all, the major stores where readers will look for ebooks, including libraries. more “Kobo makes it a sweep with all of the major ebookstores carrying all of my ebooks”
