Shop at Amazon and support your favorite charity

Amazon Smile lets you support a charity as you shopI recently heard about a new feature on Amazon.com, Amazon Smile. It’s a great way to get things you’re going to buy from Amazon and their partner stores anyway and support your favorite charity at the same time.

Every time I buy something from AmazonSmile they’ll donate 0.5% of the purchase price on eligible items to whatever charity you select. You can pick from a list of charities they know about or you can specify a different charity for the donations from your purchases to go to. I picked the Franklin Park Coalition, the organization that supports my favorite urban park.

Unfortunately, not all items on Amazon.com are eligible for the AmazonSmile program. You’ll have to look for the Smile logo to see if the item you want to buy qualifies for the program, which you can see in the screenshot for the Seville Classics 2-Pack Shelf Liners.

AmazonSmile eligibleSigning up with AmazonSmile doesn’t change how much you pay for things on the site, but once you’re signed up all of your shopping helps your favorite charity. The only thing you need to change it to start your Amazon shopping at https://smile.amazon.com/.

Which charity will you support with AmazonSmile? I’d love to know, so let me know in the comments.
