They’ve already enjoyed their parade, but I want to congratulate my Bois en Bleu, the Los Angeles Dodgers, on winning the 2024 World Series, beating the New York Yankees 4 games to 1.
My Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres 3-2 in the NLDS and the New York Mets 4-2 to spoil the Big Apple’s hopes for a Subway Series. The last two seasons our All-Stars, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freman, lost their good bats once October hit, but this year Shohei Otahni joined Betts and World Series MVP Freeman got hot just at the right time while Aaron Judge couldn’t buy a hit for the start of the series. And Tommy Edman went from midseason acquisition to NLCS MVP.
Now we have to watch the hot stove to see who resigns with the team and who has to find a new gig elsewhere. I just hope it won’t be another case of a player like Kiké Hernández having to wait until spring training to find out if he has a job anywhere, let alone with the Dodgers for the 2025 campaign.
